Here's the kitchen before all the work started. Note the crappy 1970s vintage applicances |
First step: remove the old wood tiles (there was some serious water damage). Here you can see the discovery of the vintage linoleum below the particle board. |
Here's a better look at that linoleum. If it had been in better shape, I would've left it! |
The new countertop. |
One of the new cabinets. They're much nicer than the old cheesy 1980s laminate ones. |
Here's a vast improvement! No more dark brown '70s fridge for me! |
Another huge improvement. And, no, it's not stainless. It's a "silver mist" finish. |
Here's the cabinets and countertop after installation. |
Another view of the cabinets. |
...add some nice new pulls to those cabinets... |
...put down a new floor over the ragged linoleum (not an easy task considering none of my walls are at right angles to eachother).. |
..some spiffy new paint...and it's almost done! |
Just a few more things to do (attach the last few pulls, paint the trim, etc.) and it'll be all done! |
This is the "after" shot you can compare with the first "before" image! |
